The Role

M&G Life serves over 5 million customers and manages an impressive £300 billion across a diverse range of products and wrappers. With an ambitious growth agenda for 2025 and beyond, we’re transforming how we engage, advise, and deliver value.

At the heart of this transformation is our Individual and Lifetime Pensions Portfolio - driving growth in our flagship product PruFund through expansion onto new platforms and product enhancements, retention of existing customers and enhancing the customer/advisor experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Business Analyst to join our Business Analysis team within the M&G Life Transformation function. In this pivotal role, you’ll:

  • Lead end-to-end Analysis & Design activities across a portfolio of projects and programmes
  • Manage and mentor a team of Business Analysts, fostering collaboration and professional growth
  • Work closely with talented professionals across disciplines, engaging with stakeholders at every level to define innovative solutions that deliver outstanding outcomes for our customers, advisers and our business.

Key Responsibilities for this Role

  • Leading business analysis across complex, large-scale programmes and portfolios, shaping solutions that align with strategic objectives, target operating models and business priorities
  • Bringing clarity to complex business problems, opportunities and desired outcomes, ensuring solutions are focused on delivering measurable value
  • Working proactively with senior stakeholders to identify, analyse and prioritise requirements based on business objectives and organisational goals
  • Challenging thinking, exploring alternative options and driving evidence-based decisions to deliver the best possible business outcomes
  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Business Analysis team, setting standards, guiding delivery approaches and assuring the quality of analysis outputs
  • Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, project teams and strategic suppliers to ensure analysis and design activities are aligned, effective and deliver lasting change
  • Building and developing Business Analysis capability, championing best practice, mentoring others and continually improving tools, methods and ways of working
  • Creating innovative approaches, frameworks and solutions that help solve complex business challenges and enable successful delivery across the change portfolio
  • Maintaining oversight of Business Analysis resources and capability, supporting workforce planning, recruitment, development and performance management of the team
  • Driving continuous improvement through the adoption of industry best practice, innovation and professional development, ensuring the function remains fit for the future

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors within a large programme environment
  • Experience of working with 3rd party providers and senior stakeholders (up to Exec Director level) across the business and influencing thinking across a range of disparate business stakeholders
  • Experience of leading and directing teams of business analysts within large scale strategic change programmes
  • Significant experience of defining outcomes, facilitating workshops, requirements gathering, process modelling and producing business options and solution designs
  • Significant experience of working in a project environment involving process re-engineering, journey definition, major systems change and organisational and cultural change
  • Significant experience of selecting and driving the right design approach in complex and ambiguous environments from a range of pragmatic and creative solution options
  • Significant experience of analysing complex business information and desired outcomes to understand and drive change requirements, solution design and programme initiation
