A well-established Top 100 law firm is looking for an experienced Corporate & Commercial Director to join its senior team in Stoke.

This is a senior opportunity for someone who wants to combine high-quality legal work with business development and team building. The Stoke office is continuing to develop its Corporate & Commercial offering, so the successful candidate will have genuine scope to bring in work, build relationships and help shape the team as it grows.

The Role:

  • Manage a varied Corporate & Commercial caseload
  • Advise business owners, companies, directors, shareholders and partnerships
  • Handle business sales, acquisitions, M&A, asset and share purchases
  • Advise on company restructures, governance and shareholder arrangements
  • Draft and advise on commercial contracts, including supply, distribution, service and franchise agreements
  • Deal with LLP and partnership agreements
  • Provide practical commercial advice to clients across a range of business matters
  • Develop existing client and referrer relationships
  • Generate new business and build a personal following
  • Help develop the Corporate & Commercial offering in Stoke
  • Support and develop junior members of the team
  • Work closely with the wider senior team across the firm's offices

About You:

  • Qualified Solicitor with significant Corporate & Commercial experience
  • Ideally 8+ PQE, although the firm is open to the right level of experience
  • Strong experience across both corporate and commercial work
  • Existing client following or a clear ability to develop one
  • Commercially minded and confident with business development
  • Strong connections within the regional business community would be advantageous
  • Able to manage your own workload with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong client communication skills and a pragmatic approach
  • Comfortable supervising and supporting more junior lawyers
  • Someone who is proactive, confident and motivated to build something
