Interim Corporate/Commercial Lawyer
We have an excellent opportunity with our client, within the video production industry, who is seeking an experienced Corporate/Commercial Lawyer to provide interim support to their in-house legal team.
Organisation
Our client's legal team plays a key role in supporting the business's strategic growth through corporate transactions, commercial partnerships and day-to-day legal advice across the organisation.
Role: Interim Corporate/Commercial Lawyer
This is a broad in-house role providing additional resource across the Corporate Commercial team following the departure of a secondee. The successful candidate will support a varied workload spanning mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and commercial contracts, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
The successful candidate will join a small, collaborative legal team comprising one permanent lawyer and a Flex trainee.
Core responsibilities include:
Corporate and M&A
- Supporting the M&A team on mergers, acquisitions and investment transactions across multiple jurisdictions
- Assisting with legal due diligence processes and transaction management
- Advising on transaction structuring
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation
- Supporting post-completion integration and transaction matters
- Advising on day-to-day legal issues affecting our clients' investment portfolio companies
- Assisting with corporate restructurings and other ad hoc corporate projects
- Liaising with external counsel and internal stakeholders, including Tax, Finance, HR and the wider global Legal team

Commercial
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
- Advising business teams across IT, facilities, operations and corporate functions
- Providing commercially focused legal advice on day-to-day operational matters
- Supporting commercial risk management across the business
- Assisting with compliance initiatives, template management and wider legal projects
- Providing pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters
Ideal Candidate Profile

- 5-7 PQE
- Strong corporate and commercial legal experience
- Previous in-house experience is essential.
- Experience advising on mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions
- Strong commercial contracts experience
- Comfortable managing matters independently with minimal supervision
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships across the business
- Media, entertainment or production sector experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Key Details
- Duration: Initial 6-month assignment
- Start date: Early September
- Working pattern: Full-time preferred (4 days per week may be considered)
- Working model: Hybrid
- Office attendance: Ideally 3 days per week, although 2 days will be considered for the right candidate
- Key office days: Tuesday is the core team day, with Monday also being a popular office day
- Equipment: Laptop provided
- Interview process: One-stage interview (approximately 60 minutes)
