Job Title: Corporate Commercial Solicitor or Fee Earner

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Commercial Solicitor or Fee Earner to join our team and manage a varied caseload of corporate and commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of corporate and commercial matters.
  • Provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice to clients.
  • Progress all matters efficiently and accurately, keeping clients regularly informed of progress and costs.
  • Maintain high standards of client care, professionalism and legal accuracy.
  • Manage agreed billing, time recording, aged debt and other performance targets.
  • Maintain accurate and secure client files and documentation using the firm's case management system.
  • Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters, with support from the Accounts team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant professional regulations and internal procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, professional contacts and third-party referrers.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities, helping to generate new work and referrals.
  • Keep up to date with changes and developments in corporate and commercial law through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Supervise and support a Legal Assistant, providing guidance on workload, performance and development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute positively to the development of the wider team.
  • Support a collaborative, professional and client-focused working environment.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience handling a corporate and commercial caseload.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
  • Experience advising businesses and their owners on a range of commercial matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritise competing deadlines.
  • A commercially minded and client-focused approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using a legal case management system would be advantageous.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
