A specialist financial services company primarily supporting global M&A transactions is looking to make an additional legal hire for its newly established European business - a genuine ground-floor opportunity within an established and highly regarded US headquartered company.

Role Overview: Sitting within the firm's post-closing department, this involves substantive legal work: reviewing M&A deal documentation, advising on deal agreements, transfers of interest, fund flow, and providing legal guidance across the business as European deal volume grows. You will liaise and support both internal business teams and external clients whilst working closely with operational colleagues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This role would best suit someone looking to move away from pure corporate work and long hours and move into an in-house operational role, but still use their M&A transactional knowledge.

What's on offer:

  • Varied, intellectually interesting work — contract analysis, legal interpretation, internal advisory, cross-border M&A.
  • Opportunity to develop and apply expertise in a high growth business and help shape how the business operates in Europe. Supported by a well-established and successful company in the US.
  • Collegiate, close-knit culture with strong US team support, highly-motivated European colleagues and regular face-to-face contact with the wider team.
  • Genuine scope for the position to evolve and develop.
