Job Description

The Director, Corporate Communications is a senior leader responsible for building confidence in Sage’s strategy, leadership, performance, and transformation across internal and external stakeholders.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders across Sage, this role shapes an integrated corporate narrative that helps colleagues understand Sage’s direction while strengthening the company’s reputation with media, investors, and other influential stakeholders.

The role brings together corporate and financial communications, colleague and transformation communications, reputation, and issues expertise around shared strategic outcomes. Acting as a trusted adviser, the Director will bring stakeholder insight into decision-making, help create leadership alignment, and provide clear counsel through complex and high-profile business moments.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week from our Newcastle or London office.

Summary of Role

The Director, Corporate Communications is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering Sage’s integrated corporate and reputation communications strategy. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, senior business leaders, and Brand & Corporate Affairs, you’ll build confidence in Sage’s strategy, leadership, and performance across colleagues, media, investors, and other influential stakeholders. The role brings together corporate and financial communications and colleague communications, reputation, and issues expertise around shared strategic outcomes.

What I Will Be Doing

  • Shape Sage’s integrated corporate narrative, helping colleagues and external stakeholders understand where Sage is going, why it matters, and the progress being made.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, providing strategic counsel around significant business decisions and high-profile moments.
  • Bring together colleague sentiment, media and reputation intelligence, investor perspectives, and wider stakeholder insight to identify risks and opportunities early.
  • Lead proactive corporate and financial communications that strengthen Sage’s reputation.
  • Provide senior counsel on issues and crisis communications when required.
  • Work across Brand & Corporate Affairs, People, Finance, Investor Relations, Legal, and Strategy to create integrated approaches around Sage’s most important corporate moments.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning corporate, financial, colleague communications, setting high standards for strategic thinking, judgment, creativity, and execution.
  • Use data, insight, and AI to improve decision-making, prioritization, and communications effectiveness.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experienced communications leader with significant experience across corporate, colleague, reputation, or integrated communications within a large and complex organization.
  • Confidence operating at executive level, with the credibility and judgment to advise senior leaders on complex, sensitive, and high-profile business issues and constructively challenge where appropriate.
  • Strong business understanding with excellent communications and storytelling skills, translating complex strategy and performance into clear, credible narratives for different stakeholder groups.
  • Strong leadership experience essential, including leading high-performing teams and bringing different communications disciplines together around shared outcomes.
  • Experience within a global, matrixed, or listed organization, particularly involving major financial or corporate communications, would be highly valuable.
