Legal Counsel – Capital Markets & Financial Services

Ripple Labs Inc. is seeking a motivated, exceptionally skilled lawyer to join our premier legal team in London. This visionary opportunity lets you support groundbreaking financial services and digital asset projects, with a focus on capital markets, traded products, and prime brokerage. You’ll drive innovation and play a pivotal role in transforming the financial industry.


What You’ll Do

  • Commercial Negotiation: Draft and negotiate commercial agreements across multiple business lines, covering products, partnerships, and company operations.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with business and product teams to support the design and launch of new financial technologies and services.
  • Regulatory Advice and Licensing: Provide practical, commercially focused legal guidance on UK, EU, and international regulations—including licensing and regulatory compliance.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist with corporate governance matters and general legal issues as they arise.
  • Trading and Capital Markets: Deliver outsanding legal assistance for:
    • Prime brokerage
    • Execution platforms
    • Traded products
  • Financial Services & Digital Assets: Offer legal support for:
    • Cross-border payments
    • Stablecoin issuance
    • Custodial solutions

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Experience:
    • 5–8 years’ PQE with expertise in capital markets, traded products, and/or prime brokerage.
    • Background in financial services, financial crime, or digital assets preferred.
  • Domain Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of UK/EU financial services regulation.
    • Familiarity with cryptographic assets and blockchain-based financial solutions advantageous.
  • Professional Background:
    • Preference for candidates with in-house or top-tier private practice experience within complex financial markets.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Ability to clarify complex legal issues concisely and offer practical, easy-to-apply advice.
