The Role
Join our rapidly growing M&A advisory firm and take ownership of live sale mandates for global B2B information, media and events clients. As a Corporate Finance Associate Director at Collingwood, you’ll manage day to day deal execution, work closely with our Director and Managing Director on strategy and delivery, and help shape how the team grows. We’re looking for an experienced dealmaker with 5 to 7 years’ corporate finance experience across UK and international transactions, who builds strong financial and visual narratives and is ready to lead a team. In return, we offer a highly competitive package, hybrid working, and a supportive, team-first culture built to help you grow quickly.
What does the job involve?
As an Associate Director in our Corporate Finance team, you’ll run deals day to day with minimal oversight, work closely with the Director and Managing Director on strategy, and help build the team around you.
- Manage day to day deal execution, taking ownership of the information memorandum, financial model, dataroom and due diligence process, and escalating key commercial issues to senior colleagues.
- Coordinate our clients’ legal, tax and finance advisers and in-house teams, working with the Director and Managing Director on key decisions.
- Take the lead on targeting and pitch production, supporting business development for our Corporate Finance business.
- Build and nurture relationships with buyers across trade and private equity.
- Monitor deal flow across your own and the team’s deals, flagging issues and anticipating next steps, and contribute to Board and SMT papers as required.
- Guide and develop junior team members, including analysts, and train them to deliver quality work.
- Support our Advisory practice in delivering Value Creation Plans for retained clients where required.
- Contribute to Collingwood’s content marketing through articles, roundtables, and speaking at events and webinars.
- Help us work better, contributing to our take-on procedures, pitch materials, deal process documents, financial models, buyer intelligence resource, deal tracking databases, software decisions and Corporate Finance Playbook.
- Work with professional and legal advisers to keep us up to date with regulatory and compliance requirements in client and buyer jurisdictions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
