Corporate Finance Director / Partner, Scotland

Glasgow or Edinburgh
£130,000 to £200,000+ plus bonus/profit share

You may already be winning Corporate Finance work in Scotland, but still be waiting for the platform, support or Partner route to properly catch up with what you are building.

This is an opportunity to lead the Scottish Corporate Finance offering for a national advisory firm with an established UK platform, existing Scottish offices and an appetite to invest.

The wider business already has a strong advisory presence. It works across the lower mid-market, advises entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, investors and lenders, and has experienced execution capability across the UK.

The opportunity in Scotland is to bring that capability into the market properly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is likely to suit either an existing Partner who wants more influence, or an experienced Director/Senior Director who is already originating and wants a credible route to leading a Scottish Corporate Finance practice.

You will need to be comfortable opening doors, winning work and converting relationships into mandates. The wider firm can support you, but it cannot replace your own market presence.

You will have the scope to:

  • Lead the Corporate Finance offering across Scotland
  • Originate lower mid-market M&A opportunities
  • Work with business owners, management teams, private equity and funders
  • Use existing advisory relationships across Glasgow, Edinburgh and the wider Scottish market
  • Draw on national Corporate Finance, Debt Advisory and sector expertise
  • Build a team as activity develops

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit inside a large machine and wait for work to arrive. It is for someone who enjoys the market, has credible relationships and wants to shape a proposition.

The attraction is timing. The national platform is already there. The Scottish advisory presence is already there. The missing piece is a dedicated Corporate Finance leader who can join the dots, originate locally and build the team around them.

For the right person, this offers a genuine leadership opportunity rather than another title in an already settled structure.
