Corporate Finance Executive

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)
Department: Corporate Finance
Contract: Permanent

About Ballards

Based across Birmingham, Worcester and Droitwich, Ballards is a progressive firm of Chartered Accountants supporting businesses and private clients to achieve stronger financial performance through integrated tax, audit, accountancy and advisory expertise. As we continue to grow our Corporate Finance team and our pipeline of transactions, we are looking for a Corporate Finance Executive to join us.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad exposure across lower mid-market transactions, working on both buy-side and sell-side engagements. You’ll combine financial due diligence and detailed financial analysis with hands-on involvement throughout the M&A process, working closely with senior members of the team and directly with clients.

About the Role

As a Corporate Finance Executive, you’ll play an important role in delivering transactions and providing clients with clear, commercially focused financial insight. You’ll work across a varied portfolio of corporate finance projects, supporting transactions from initial analysis and due diligence through to completion. The role would suit someone who enjoys working with financial data, has strong commercial curiosity and wants to develop their career within a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions from initial analysis through to completion
  • Undertaking detailed financial analysis, including valuations, financial modelling and preparation of deal materials
  • Supporting financial due diligence engagements, including quality of earnings, working capital, net debt and cash flow analysis
  • Reviewing financial information to identify key trends, risks and commercial considerations
  • Engaging with target management teams to gather information, challenge assumptions and validate financial data
  • Preparing clear, concise and commercially focused reports, presentations and client deliverables
  • Working closely with senior members of the Corporate Finance team to support successful deal execution
  • Managing your own workstreams and deliverables across multiple live transactions
  • Building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and other professional advisers
  • Supporting the continued growth of the Corporate Finance team and contributing to business development opportunities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
