Corporate Finance M&A Director - Founder-Led & Lower Mid-Market
City of London
£130,000-£160,000 + deal-linked bonus / commission
A fast-growing London boutique investment bank is looking to appoint an M&A Director as it continues to build its lower mid-market advisory business.
The firm advises founders and shareholders of businesses typically valued between £10m and £250m, providing sell-side M&A, growth capital and strategic transaction advice.
The role
- Originate new sell-side and capital-raising mandates
- Develop relationships with founders, shareholders, PE investors and intermediaries
- Lead transactions from initial engagement through valuation, preparation, buyer/investor approach, due diligence, negotiation and completion
- Take primary ownership of senior client relationships
- Manage and develop Associates and Analysts
- Help develop sector coverage and the firm's wider origination strategy
- Work directly with the Managing Directors on the continued growth of the advisory platform

Background
We are interested in candidates currently operating at VP, Director or equivalent level within:
- Investment banking
- M&A / Corporate Finance boutiques
- Big Four or Top 10 Corporate Finance
- Independent advisory firms/ Financial Services
You should have strong end-to-end transaction experience and be comfortable leading founders through a sale process. A demonstrable ability to originate work, develop relationships or generate fees is important. This is not an execution-only position. Sector background is flexible, although experience advising founder-owned, entrepreneurial or PE-backed businesses would be particularly relevant.

Package
- £130,000-£160,000 basic
- Plus a significant performance and deal-linked bonus, with the economics designed to reward successful origination and completed transactions.
- For the right individual there is scope for considerably greater responsibility as the business continues to scale from their City of London offices
