Summary
The Corporate Finance Manager is a pivotal role within the Council, tasked with providing expert leadership and hands-on management of all corporate finance functions. This position involves ensuring the effective management of statutory financial reporting, treasury management, financial controls, and compliance activities. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Corporate Finance Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and governance of the Council.

- Lead and oversee the Council's corporate finance operations.
- Offer expert technical accounting advice to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to local government accounting standards, CIPFA guidance, and statutory regulations.
- Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Direct the preparation and production of the Council’s annual Statement of Accounts.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting deadlines.
- Coordinate the preparation of working papers, disclosures, and supporting documentation.
- Manage the year-end closedown process and related reconciliations.
Requirements
- Significant recent experience in a finance role within a District or Borough Council.
- Proven track record in producing local authority Statements of Accounts.
- Extensive experience in managing external audit processes.
- Strong background in treasury management and banking operations.
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB qualified), such as CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week
- Driving license required.
- Flexible on rate (please state on your CV your desired umbrella rate)
- Rugby (Hybrid - 4 days per week on-site initially, reducing to 2-3 days per week subject to business needs)
- We work on Bi weekly payment schedule.
