About Finom
Finom is a European tech startup headquartered in Amsterdam, and we’re on a journey towards revolutionizing the financial landscape for entrepreneurs worldwide. Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.
We recently closed a €115 million Series C equity round (around $133 million), bringing our total funding to approximately $346 million. This significant investment follows a $105 million growth funding round from General Catalyst, a long-term backer since 2021 known for supporting companies like Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe.
Finom's platform goes beyond traditional banking, offering invoicing and a growing suite of features, including AI-enabled accounting, aiming to simplify financial management for entrepreneurs. We're actively expanding our reach across key EU markets like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.
At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
We are looking for a Corporate Finance Manager to join Finom's Corporate Finance team.
This is not FP&A. The team is small and senior — business analytics, M&A and investor relations, and financial modelling infrastructure. You will be the fourth member, working directly with the VP of Finance across the topics that sit above the planning cycle.
The most distinctive part of this role is regulatory financial modelling. Finom operates through regulated entities across Europe and is moving up the licensing ladder: banking licence, payment institution and EMI permissions, own funds and capital planning, safeguarding. Each of those steps requires a financial projection that a regulator reads line by line and challenges. Someone has to build it, defend it under questioning, and keep it alive as the business changes underneath it. That is the core of this job.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The rest is broader corporate finance — strategic projects, business cases, board and investor materials, business partnering, and M&A support when a deal is live. The mix moves with company priorities. If you want a narrow lane, this is not it.
What you'll own
Regulatory and licensing models — the primary mandate
- Financial projections for banking licence and payment institution / EMI applications: P&L, balance sheet, capital and liquidity, built on a basis regulators accept
- Own funds and regulatory capital planning — requirements, headroom, and behaviour under growth and stress
- Safeguarding and payment buffer modelling across regulated entities
- Direct support to legal, compliance and regulatory teams through the application and Q&A cycle — defending assumptions and reworking projections against real deadlines
- Keeping licence and capital models reconciled to the company financial model and to actuals, rather than drifting into a parallel universe
Strategic finance and special projects
- Business cases and investment cases for new markets, products and initiatives
- Scenario and sensitivity analysis for the CEO, CFO and Supervisory Board
- Profitability and unit economics analysis at product, segment and market level
- Board and investor materials — the numbers and the argument that sits behind them
- Fundraising support: model preparation, diligence responses, investor questions
- M&A workstreams when a transaction is live — valuation, structuring analysis, diligence support
Business partnering and analysis
- Partnering selected functions on planning, cost and investment decisions
- Ad-hoc analysis where the question matters more than the format
Who you are
- 4+ years in corporate finance, strategic finance, financial modelling, transaction services, or the finance function of a bank or fintech
- You have built or materially maintained sophisticated financial models for a bank, fintech or financial institution — not only operated someone else's
- Exposure to regulatory financial models: licence applications, capital planning, ICAAP/ILAAP, or regulatory reporting. This is the differentiator for this role
- Exceptional Excel / Google Sheets modelling — structure, transparency, error-proofing; you build models other people can pick up
- Excellent working command of the three financial statements and how they interact
- Understanding of banking or fintech economics: interchange, net interest income, funding, capital
- Extreme attention to detail and healthy perfectionism — a wrong number in a regulatory submission is expensive
- Structured thinking and an ownership mentality; you close the loop without being chased
- Comfortable working independently with the CFO, CEO and board-level stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal English
