Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The opportunity is centred on relationship-led, mid-market M&A, with senior advisers expected to develop opportunities through their sector networks rather than simply execute transactions. Commercial contribution can also extend beyond M&A, with the opportunity to introduce clients to capabilities across the wider advisory business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Expand TMT coverage, developing complementary sector depth within an already important market.
  • Originate mid-market M&A and wider advisory opportunities through established relationships with business owners, management teams, private equity investors and corporates.
  • Lead M&A engagements from origination and senior client engagement through to execution.
  • Build long-term relationships across your chosen TMT verticals and convert those relationships into mandates.
  • Collaborate nationally and internationally to create opportunities across multiple service lines.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong UK mid-market corporate finance / M&A advisory experience at Director, Managing Director or equivalent level.
  • Deep TMT expertise with an established network of business owners, corporates, private equity investors and senior industry decision-makers.
  • A demonstrable ability to originate M&A mandates and generate meaningful fee opportunities, rather than operating predominantly in an execution capacity.
  • Strong sector credibility and the ability to develop senior client relationships over the long term.
  • Commercial range to identify opportunities beyond M&A and connect clients with wider advisory capabilities.

Who This Suits

You’re a sector-led mid-market M&A adviser whose value comes from genuine market connectivity and the ability to originate, not simply execute transactions.

You may already be operating at MD level or be a high-performing Director ready to take that step. Either way, you’ll have established relationships across the TMT market and want a platform where you can build around your sector strengths, originate your own opportunities and have broader commercial impact.
