Role Overview
The Front of House Receptionist is responsible for delivering an exceptional welcome and a polished, professional experience for colleagues and visitors. Working closely with the Office Manager, the role supports the smooth day-to-day running of the office, meeting rooms and reception environment while maintaining consistently high service standards in a prestigious financial services setting.
Salary: 31k plus
Hours: Monday to Friday (40h/week)
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Visitor Experience
- Act as the primary point of contact for colleagues and visitors entering the office.
- Meet, greet and check in visitors with a polished, warm and professional approach.
- Maintain an immaculate, organised and guest-ready reception area and workstation throughout the day.
- Deliver exceptional service during both busy and quieter periods while maintaining a positive, proactive and high-spirited approach.
Meeting Rooms, Hospitality & Events
- Manage the four meeting rooms, including bookings, room set-ups and light housekeeping to ensure each space is ready for use.
- Support ad-hoc catering and event requirements, including placing Ocado orders when requested.
- Anticipate meeting and guest needs and help ensure a seamless experience from arrival through to departure.
Office Manager & Administrative Support
- Maintain daily communication with the Office Manager and support the prompt resolution of operational or facilities-related issues.
- Provide administrative support to the Office Manager as required, including diary management.
- Use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel confidently to support day-to-day administration and front of house activity.

Service Standards & Team Collaboration
- Champion customer service excellence and consistently represent the standards expected within a high-end reception environment.
- Demonstrate a flexible, positive, proactive and committed approach to all responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider teams to uphold a seamless "one team" ethos.
Opening & Closing Procedures
- Carry out fire procedures and support evacuations when required.
- Complete opening and closing procedures in line with site standards.
- Remain alert to operational requirements and escalate issues appropriately to help maintain a safe, efficient and professional workplace.
Training, Communication & Professional Judgement
- Train Elite team members so that site procedures and service expectations are understood and applied consistently.
- Communicate confidently and professionally with visitors, colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate an assertive yet approachable manner when managing situations or responding to requests.
- Multitask effectively, prioritise changing demands and anticipate needs to support the smooth running of the office.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Previous front of house, reception, hospitality or premium client-facing experience is preferred.
- Strong administrative capability, including confident use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, professional and service-focused approach.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy office environment.
- A flexible and collaborative approach with the confidence to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Scope of Role
The responsibilities set out in this job description include but are not limited to the duties listed above. The postholder may be asked to undertake other reasonable duties within the general scope and level of responsibility of the role to support front of house, office operations, hospitality and service delivery. Appropriate instruction and training will be provided where required.
