At Hyde, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an experienced Corporate Health & Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our organisation-wide approach to health and safety governance, assurance, and continuous improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified health and safety professional to take ownership of Hyde's corporate health and safety framework, ensuring compliance with legislation, maintaining effective management systems, and driving a positive safety culture across a complex and diverse organisation.
Working closely with senior leaders, managers, and governance forums, you'll provide expert advice, deliver assurance through audits and reviews, oversee external accreditation programmes including CHAS and RoSPA, and ensure health and safety risks are effectively identified, managed, and continually improved across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Hyde's organisation-wide approach to health and safety compliance, assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor changes in legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice, ensuring Hyde remains compliant and informed.
- Maintain and continuously improve health and safety policies, standards, management systems, procedures, risk assessments, and supporting guidance.
- Deliver Hyde's annual external health and safety accreditation programmes, including CHAS and RoSPA.
- Undertake audits, reviews, and compliance checks, ensuring effective controls are in place and actions are tracked through to completion.
- Lead and support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide expert health and safety advice and guidance to managers and colleagues across the organisation.
- Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and performance updates to senior stakeholders, committees, and governance forums.
- Coordinate Hyde's Corporate Health & Safety Committee and support organisation-wide engagement initiatives, including colleague health and safety surveys.
- Monitor performance data and trends, using insight to drive continuous improvement and strengthen safety culture across the organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
