As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase in the Corporate Sector Data Engineering team, you will promote the development of secure, scalable, and innovative solutions for our Global Know Your Customer (KYC) and Risk Assessment Data Platform. You will lead across multiple teams, define architecture and engineering standards, and deliver high-impact software that supports the firm’s portfolios. Your advanced technical skills and collaborative mindset will help us achieve best-in-class outcomes. You will play a key role in shaping our technology landscape and fostering a culture of excellence.
Job responsibilities
- Develop secure, high-quality production code for data-intensive applications and platforms
- Mentor and review work of other engineers to promote best practices
- Create durable, reusable software frameworks and patterns leveraged across teams
- Design and govern agentic AI systems, including multi-agent workflows and human-in-the-loop controls
- Establish engineering standards for LLM-based applications, ensuring safety and reproducibility
- Drive adoption of advanced technical methods and industry-aligned product development practice
- Advise cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to enhance automation value
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to deliver impactful solutions
- Lead architectural decisions and engineering practices for scalable software
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability at enterprise scale
- Experience designing and deploying production AI/ML systems, including LLM-based applications and agentic architectures in regulated environments
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, particularly Python and/or PySpark
- Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes in disciplines such as cloud, AI/ML, or data engineering
- Experience in large-scale data processing, microservices, API design, and orchestration frameworks
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, vector stores, and data lake architectures
- Familiarity with observability tools and frameworks
- Practical cloud-native experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and executives
- Commitment to inclusive, collaborative teamwork
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Hands-on expertise with Spark/PySpark and big data processing technologies
- Knowledge of open-source table formats and catalog services such as Apache Iceberg
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks and model serving infrastructure or managed endpoints
- Familiarity with AI evaluation and observability practices for LLM workloads
- Understanding of agentic design patterns and how to constrain agent autonomy in financial workflows
- Interest in emerging technologies and continuous learning
