The Opportunity
Simpson Judge is working exclusively with a well-established and ambitious commercial law firm looking to appoint a Corporate Partner as part of the continued growth of its Manchester offering.
This is a senior strategic hire and an excellent opportunity for an established Corporate Partner, or an experienced senior lawyer with a strong business case for Partnership, to join a firm with genuine ambitions to grow its presence in the Manchester market.
The successful individual will have significant autonomy to develop their practice, build client relationships and play an important role in the wider growth of the Manchester office.
The Role
You will advise a broad range of businesses, shareholders, investors and management teams on corporate transactions and general corporate matters. Typical work is likely to include:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Business and share disposals
- MBOs and MBIs
- Private equity and investment transactions
- Shareholder agreements and reorganisations
- Joint ventures
- Corporate governance and advisory matters
- Supporting owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses through growth, investment and exit

Alongside fee-earning work, you will take an active role in developing the Corporate practice, building relationships across the North West business community and contributing to the strategic development of the Manchester office.
The Candidate
We are interested in speaking with Corporate Partners, Legal Directors and senior Corporate lawyers who can demonstrate:
- Strong technical Corporate experience
- An established network within the Manchester/North West market
- A commercial approach to client development
- The ability and ambition to develop a practice
- Strong client relationship and leadership skills
- An interest in playing a meaningful role in the growth of a developing Manchester office

An existing following would be advantageous; however, the firm is equally interested in individuals who can demonstrate a credible business plan and the relationships and market profile to develop a practice over time.
