Corporate Partner (8+ PQE) | London | Leading National Law Firm | Owner-Managed Business Focus - No Following Threshold

Are you a senior Corporate solicitor with a strong Owner-Managed Business client base looking for an opportunity to build something substantial within a leading national law firm? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing London OMB offering with genuine investment behind it, a clear route into partnership and no fixed threshold for following.

A highly regarded national law firm is looking to make a number of senior hires to support the continued growth of its Owner-Managed Business offering in London. The firm is looking for commercially minded Corporate lawyers who have a genuine OMB network, a track record of generating work and the ambition to build a significant practice over the longer term.

The Firm

A leading national law firm with an established presence across the UK and a broad full-service offering spanning Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Employment, Real Estate, Banking and Finance, Private Client and a range of specialist legal services.

The firm advises businesses and individuals across a wide range of sectors and has developed a strong offering for privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses. Its OMB client base ranges from family, start-up and micro businesses through to established family-owned businesses with turnovers of £250–300m.

The firm is investing further in its London OMB offering, with an ambition to build a genuinely connected ecosystem for owner-managed businesses across the wider practice. The approach is collaborative and commercially focused, bringing together expertise from across the firm to support clients throughout the lifecycle of their businesses.

This investment creates an opportunity for senior lawyers to play a meaningful role in the continued development of the OMB practice, supported by the infrastructure, resources and wider expertise of an established national firm.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate senior lawyer to join a growing London OMB offering and play a key role in developing the practice.

The successful candidate will have a strong proportion of Owner-Managed Business clients within their existing practice and will advise entrepreneurs, shareholders, family-owned businesses and other privately held companies across a broad range of Corporate matters. You may also act for larger corporates, but the key requirement is that your network and client base have a genuine OMB focus.

You will work closely with the OMB leadership team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the wider OMB ecosystem across the firm. This could include introducing clients to colleagues across Corporate, Commercial, Employment, Real Estate, Private Client, Dispute Resolution and other specialist areas, helping to develop deeper and more valuable client relationships across the business.

A particularly attractive aspect of the opportunity is that there is no fixed following threshold for partnership. The firm is interested in the quality of your relationships, your track record of generating referrals and work, and your potential to build a substantial practice rather than simply requiring you to arrive with a particular level of portable revenue.

The firm is looking for someone with the ambition to build an “empire” around their client base. You will be expected to be active in the market, developing relationships through networking, events, dinners and other business development opportunities, whilst having the support of a broader national platform behind you.

For a senior lawyer, this represents a genuine opportunity to progress into partnership without the traditional requirement to meet a pre-determined following threshold. For an existing Partner, it offers the opportunity to join a firm that is actively investing in the OMB market and provide the platform to continue building.

Requirements

  • 8+ PQE Solicitor with strong Corporate experience.
  • An Owner-Managed Business client base and network, representing a significant proportion of your existing practice.
  • Demonstrable track record of generating work, referrals and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Commercially minded, entrepreneurial and proactive in developing opportunities in the market.
  • Strong personality and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to network, attend events and develop your profile.
  • Ambitious and motivated by the opportunity to build and grow a significant practice over the long term.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability and willingness to introduce clients to the firm's wider OMB offering.
  • Sector agnostic – the strength and relevance of your OMB network is more important than a particular industry specialism.

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a corporate senior lawyer with a strong OMB network who is looking for more than simply another move. With significant investment behind the London OMB offering, no fixed following threshold and genuine scope to build a substantial practice, the role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future of a growing area of the firm.
