Corporate Partner | 6+ PQE | South West London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an established Corporate Partner or Senior Associate ready to take the next step towards Partnership, to join a well-regarded South West London law firm and take the lead in developing and growing its Corporate practice.

This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious Corporate lawyer with an established client following to take genuine ownership of a practice area, building on existing corporate work within the firm and creating a larger, commercially focused offering for the future.

The Firm

A well-regarded and growing boutique law firm in South West London, known for its friendly, modern and client-focused approach, with a strong and established presence across both private client and business-focused legal services.

The firm has built a loyal client base across South West London, Surrey and further afield, advising individuals, owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger organisations. Its established practice includes Commercial Property, Employment, Dispute Resolution, Residential Property, Private Client and Company, Commercial & Business Law, providing a broad platform of complementary expertise for its clients.

The firm's business offering already supports clients throughout the business lifecycle, from start-up and investment through to growth and exit, with particular experience across sectors including real estate, retail and hospitality, technology, creative and media, education, manufacturing and professional services.

Creating a strong foundation for the development of a dedicated Corporate practice, with significant opportunities to identify and develop corporate work from the firm's existing client base and professional relationships.

There is also an existing source of corporate work within the firm, with the Head of Commercial having a strong corporate background and continuing to bring corporate matters into the practice. This provides an excellent platform for an experienced Corporate lawyer to take this existing foundation and develop it into a more substantial and established Corporate offering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Corporate Partner or a Senior Associate who is ready to make the move into Partnership and take genuine ownership of a growing practice.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in shaping the firm's Corporate offering, bringing their own established client relationships and using these as a platform from which to grow the practice.

Working closely with the wider Commercial team, you will benefit from an existing flow of corporate work while having the autonomy to develop the department's profile, client base and offering.

The role will involve advising a broad range of businesses, shareholders and entrepreneurs on matters including:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Acquisitions and disposals
  • Shareholder agreements and corporate governance
  • Joint ventures and investments
  • Group reorganisations
  • Corporate structuring
  • Share sales and purchases
  • General corporate advisory matters

There will also be scope to develop the practice in line with your own areas of expertise and client relationships, with the freedom to identify opportunities and shape the direction of the department as it grows.

For a Senior Associate, this represents an opportunity to make the transition into Partnership within a firm where you can have a genuine influence on the direction and development of the practice. Rather than stepping into an established department with limited scope to shape it, you will have the opportunity to build something of your own, with the support of the firm and an existing source of corporate work.

For an established Partner, the role provides a platform to bring an existing practice into a boutique environment where there is significant autonomy to develop the department, build on existing relationships and create further opportunities.

Requirements

  • 6+ PQE (England & Wales) Corporate Senior Associate or Partner
  • Strong experience across a broad range of corporate matters, particularly M&A and related transactional work.
  • An established and portable client following, ideally generating £150k+ in annual billings.
  • A strong network of clients and professional contacts, with the ability to develop and grow those relationships.
  • A genuine interest in building and leading a Corporate practice.
  • For a Senior Associate, the ambition and readiness to take the next step into Partnership.
  • For an existing Partner, a proven track record of developing a successful practice and generating new business.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic, partner-level advice.
  • The confidence and entrepreneurial mindset to develop a practice area and contribute to the wider growth of the firm.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a strong focus on client service.

All in all, this is an excellent opportunity for an established Corporate lawyer to take a significant step in their career, whether moving into Partnership or bringing an existing Partner-level practice into a firm where they can have genuine autonomy to shape and grow the Corporate department, develop their client base and play a key role in its future direction.
