Corporate Partnerships Manager

Location: 3 Millfield, Greenway Business Park, Winslow Road, Great Horwood, Milton Keynes MK17 0NP (Potential for hybrid working)

Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum depending on experience.

Job Type: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week with some evening and weekend work as required.

Main Purpose & Scope of the Role

Corporate fundraising is vital to our ability to train life-saving assistance dogs and further our bio-detection research as we receive no statutory funding and rely on the generosity of our many donors and supporters. We are keen to enhance our profile by engaging corporate supporters with our work.

As Corporate Fundraiser, you will develop and promote new opportunities for our corporate supporters through networking events. Maintain existing corporate relationships and develop new opportunities through development of our Corporate Partnership Programme. Maximising the income and achieve targets while keeping within an expenditure budget. You will work collaboratively with the rest of the Fundraising Team to maximise opportunities. Also engage and work closely with all corporate supporters and develop a programme of stewardship to ensure relationships are maintained long term.

What You'll Do

  • To ensure that all financial targets are achieved.
  • Develop, manage and deliver the Corporate fundraising strategy which will include: research and apply to National Charity of the year opportunities, identify appropriate cause related marketing opportunities, attend networking events to increase awareness of our work and promote potential partnership or sponsorship opportunities.
  • Management of a portfolio of corporates with the purpose of generating significant gifts in support of the corporate fundraising strategy and take responsibility for delivering and developing our plans for securing new income from businesses by identifying growth areas and opportunities within the corporate sector.
  • Develop and plan a programme of corporate events to promote corporate engagement.
  • Act as an ambassador for MDD, representing the charity at external events, including a wide variety of networking events and speaking engagements.
  • To liaise with other members of the fundraising team and support their activities.
  • To work closely with the Head of Communications and People Engagement in promoting the charity’s brand.
  • Identify and promote a programme of Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities.
  • Work closely with the community and events team to maximise corporate contact opportunities and manage corporate participating and sponsorship in the events programme.

Finance and Administration

  • To ensure the effectiveness of administrative systems and procedures, including the maintenance of records on our database, and the management of the corporate budget.
  • To adhere to the charity’s financial systems, policies & procedures and be compliant with GDPR regulations.

Other Tasks

  • To represent MDD in a variety of different contexts and to a variety of different audiences.
  • To maintain a current knowledge of changes in legislation affecting charities and carry out fundraising activities in line with the Fundraising Regulator’s Codes of Conduct.
  • To contribute to other activities undertaken as required.
  • To contribute to organisational effectiveness through positive team-working.
  • Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity.

Person Specification

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of two years experience in a similar role
  • A high level of competency is required in MS Office packages Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience of undertaking a range of administrative functions.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills with a methodical and accurate approach, combined with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • An ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate a high level of innovative
  • Confident and self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at different levels.
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills
  • Enthusiastic and able to inspire people who want to raise funds for the charity

Desirable

  • Prior experience of using CRM systems
  • An understanding of the legal obligations of Charity Law and regulation
  • Experience of public speaking and presenting to a diverse range of audiences.
  • A significant record of achievement in raising funds either gained within the voluntary sector or within a sales background.
  • A team player with a desire to inspire and motivate others.

Personal Attributes and Other Requirements

  • A full current driving license
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
  • You will be required to have a criminal record check carried out by the Disclosure & Barring (DBS) when you first join the charity and at regular intervals thereafter.
  • Comfortable with dogs in the workplace/office
  • A pride in your work and ability to use initiative and work effectively and efficiently without supervision
