Overall, Purpose

As a corporate receptionist you will be striving to achieve outstanding customer experience for visitors, tenants and guests. You will be representing St James and St James’ clients to go the extra mile to keep a high-level of satisfaction with every person you help.

As a corporate receptionist, we empower you to take full responsibility for the reception and work collaboratively as a team to keep the standards at a high level. You will bring a creative mind to enhance the community ethos, working closely with the building manager and take over from security in the morning. You will be creative, not afraid of challenges, and will take charge of reception and its areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The below listed tasks/responsibilities are not exhaustive:

  • To take full ownership and accountability of the reception and all associated areas, making sure that they are always kept in the best possible order, liaising with security, cleaners, facilities, and other departments as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure the St James folder, manual, occupier’s procedures, phone database are up to date. Delivering of monthly reports and appropriate FOH data as and when required.
  • To challenge existing ways of working to improve and develop our services, always aiming for the highest possible customer experience and engagement.
  • To build strong relationships with tenants, clients, guests and visitors by acting as the first point of contact, providing a welcoming and professional service, managing visitor sign-ins and directing guests to the relevant floors, responding confidently to questions, queries and feedback, handling calls and messages efficiently, and always remaining calm and professional whilst being flexible and responsive to any unforeseen circumstances.
  • Managing orders and ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Events / Pop-Up Organisation; Organising and coordinating monthly events and pop-ups, including planning, liaising with relevant parties, managing arrangements, and creating promotional posters and event materials to ensure each event is effectively organised and promoted.
  • Create and lead on the events calendar, pop ups and freebie of the buildings as well as creating a monthly newsletter.

  • Previous experience in delivering exceptional customer service essential.
  • To be a driven and proactive individual, to handle tasks effectively and professionally.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, flexible working with a range of styles and personalities and according to business demands.
  • Excellent punctuality, outgoing and a can do/proactive attitude
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel essential.
