Corporate Restructuring Associate – 1–2 PQE

Location: London

PQE: 1–2 years' relevant PQE

Salary: £175,000–£190,000 + discretionary bonus (DOE)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A leading US law firm is looking to appoint a talented Corporate Restructuring Associate to join its highly regarded London team.


This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer at 1–2 years' PQE to join a market-leading restructuring practice, working on some of the most complex and high-value domestic and cross-border restructuring matters.

The team advises a broad range of clients including companies, boards of directors, sponsors, creditors, creditor groups, acquirers and other stakeholders across the full spectrum of restructuring and distressed situations.

The Role

The successful candidate will gain significant exposure to sophisticated and complex restructuring matters, working closely with leading lawyers across the firm's international network.

The work will include:

  • In-court and out-of-court restructuring transactions.
  • Complex cross-border restructurings.
  • Insolvency-related disputes and proceedings.
  • Special situations and distressed investments.
  • Structured private capital transactions.
  • Advising companies, sponsors, creditors and other stakeholders.
  • Working alongside M&A, Private Equity, Debt Finance, Capital Markets and Dispute Resolution teams.

About You

We are looking for a lawyer with 1–2 years' relevant post-qualification experience in the London market, although candidates with more or less experience will be considered on their individual merits.

You should have:

  • Strong experience in corporate restructuring, insolvency or distressed situations.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong written communication and drafting skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and sound commercial judgement.
  • A willingness and ability to take on significant responsibility.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively on complex, high-value matters in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in another common law jurisdiction may also be considered.
