Corporate Sales Executive - Fixed Term Contract

Job Purpose

To establish and maintain good relationships with new and existing corporate clients who show an interest in holding their event at Silverstone.

  • Deliver a client-friendly and seamless sales administration function.
  • Assist with the growth and account management of the MICE agents and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all incoming sales enquiries and work with the team to ensure that you follow through within agreed timeframes.
  • Quote and propose meetings and events accurately and according to agreed pricing structure and margins specified.
  • Ensure all quotations are followed up and updated in accordance with set key performance indicators and all contractual agreements are met.
  • Enter client details accurately onto the sales system, adhering to the SOP’s.
  • Convert bookings, coordinating all details relating to the event maintaining client contact until the Event Handover with the Events Team.
  • Administrative duties to include raising contracts and sales orders, supporting the team with other administrative tasks.
  • Conduct site inspections (speculative and specific), upselling where possible.
  • Follow up with clients post-event to ensure that their event ran smoothly and find out if they would like to rebook as well as identifying further contacts within their business.
  • Diarising regular client contact with clients who have enquired or booked events with Silverstone.
  • Fill the pipeline by growing, maintaining, and leveraging existing contacts and passing relevant sales leads to the proactive team.
  • Provide input and ideas into department initiatives, constantly promoting the Silverstone brand in a reassuring and professional manner.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Identifying exhibitions, awards, industry events, and contacts that may be suitable to partner with to help promote the Wing.
  • Working with the team to ensure consistency of qualifying leads, successful selling, and helping each other to convert business.
  • Working on and helping to organize conversion days and familiarisation trips and other promotional events.
  • Attend network and promotional events to develop contact with potential clients and professional bodies.
  • Make proactive sales calls and follow up with people that you have met at the above events.
  • Undertake ad hoc administrative tasks and duties to enable the team to reach its monthly and annual target.

  • Help create a positive environment and proactive culture within the department and support the whole team to achieve their targets.
  • Work to achieve an agreed target of revenue both individually and within the MICE Sales team.

Performance Responsibilities

Performance will be monitored against the following:

  • Objectives set through the Personal Development Review (PDR) process.
  • Ownership and completion of agreed business priorities in a timely manner.
  • Teamwork.

  • Senior Sales Manager (MICE).
  • Venue Sales Team.
  • Corporate Events Operations Team.
  • Marketing.
  • Finance.
  • Business Development Team.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in MICE sales or similar experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Business, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the MICE industry, market dynamics, and sales techniques.
  • Licence: Full clean UK driving licence.
