Corporate Senior Associate

Southampton | 4+ PQE | International Law Firm

£65,000 - £92,000 + up to 50% salary bonus.

We are working with a highly regarded top-ranked law firm looking for a corporate solicitor (4+ PQE) to join its Tier 1 Legal 500 Corporate team in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and ambitious practice, with exciting plans for future growth. You’ll advise a diverse client base of owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, and corporates on high-quality transactional and advisory matters, with exposure to international-scale work. The firm has ambitious plans to continue expanding and offers an attractive rewards package, including a lucrative bonus scheme of up to 50% of salary and additional opportunities to increase earnings.

You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a varied caseload, taking an active role in transactions from inception through to completion. The position offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to a diverse client base.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Mergers and acquisitions, including share and asset sales and purchases
  • Joint ventures and strategic business partnerships
  • Private equity and investment transactions
  • Corporate restructures and reorganisations
  • Shareholder arrangements and governance matters
  • Drafting and negotiating transaction documents and ancillary agreements
  • Conducting and overseeing legal due diligence exercises
  • Supporting business development initiatives and strengthening client relationships

Candidate Requirements:

  • Solid training and experience within Corporate Law
  • A minimum of 4+ years' PQE gained within a recognised corporate team (wider PQE may be considered dependant on experience)
  • Strong experience advising on M&A transactions and general corporate matters
  • Experience managing transactions and client relationships with appropriate supervision
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive attitude towards business development and networking
