About the Role
HII offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Counsel, Division Trade Compliance in the Mission Technologies division, based at the Arlington, VA Corporate Office. This role reports directly to the Assistant General Counsel and Director of International Trade Compliance.
The ideal candidate possesses:

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will:
- Provide legal advice concerning Mission Technologies’ international trade transactions and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate daily with the Trade Compliance Manager.
- Develop and refine trade compliance policies and procedures to streamline operations.
- Conduct risk-based legal analyses for international trade issues.
- Act as a liaison with U.S. government regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Support Mission Technologies’ Compliance Plan, including:
- Annual compliance evaluations and risk assessments.
- Quarterly Compliance Council products.
- On-site compliance support for U.S. operations.
- Third-party representative due diligence reviews.
- Daily liaison with the Compliance Program Manager.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree.
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
Preferrable Skills or Experience (Nice to Have)
- International trade compliance experience.
- Internal investigation expertise.
- Experience in the defense industry or with U.S. Government (USG) contracts.
- In-house legal practice background.
- Active security clearance.
