Corporate Solicitor

Location: Bristol

Salary: Competitive DOE

PQE: 2-6

About the Firm

My client is a Legal 500-ranked, full-service law firm with a well-established presence in Bristol and the South West. The Corporate team advises entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and larger corporates on a broad range of transactional and advisory work, and is recognised in the independent legal directories for the quality of its work.

The Role

We are seeking a Corporate Solicitor to join our Bristol team, working on a varied caseload of transactional and advisory corporate matters. This is an opportunity to build a broad corporate practice within a well-regarded, Legal 500-ranked team, with genuine early client contact and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting on company sales and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and shareholder agreements
  • Supporting due diligence exercises and drafting/reviewing corporate documentation
  • Advising SME and owner-managed business clients on general corporate governance matters
  • Advising on private equity and venture capital investments, including fundraising rounds and investment agreements
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including shareholder, joint venture and partnership agreements
  • Supporting management buyouts, buy-ins and other corporate finance transactions
  • Advising on group reorganisations, demergers and corporate simplification projects
  • Assisting with the corporate aspects of employee incentive schemes and share option arrangements
  • Liaising with accountants, tax advisers and other professionals to deliver joined-up advice on complex transactions

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), 2-6 years' PQE in corporate law
  • Strong technical drafting and analytical skills, with solid transactional experience
  • Excellent client-facing manner and ability to manage a varied, fee-earning caseload with minimal supervision
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in business development and building client relationships
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collegiate environment
