Corporate Tax Assistant Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join a growing Top 20 accountancy firm. This role offers responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, large corporates and charitable organisations, alongside the opportunity to mentor junior team members and develop broader advisory exposure.

Description

  • Manage the corporate tax compliance process for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, large corporates and charitable organisations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on day-to-day tax matters.
  • Work closely with audit teams to manage deadlines and provide tax provisions for statutory accounts.
  • Review corporate tax computations and returns.
  • Liaise directly with HMRC regarding client matters and enquiries.
  • Identify opportunities for additional tax services across client portfolios, including areas such as R&D and transfer pricing.
  • Support senior tax leaders with ad hoc advisory projects.
  • Mentor, coach and develop junior tax team members.
  • Provide technical guidance, training and performance feedback.
  • Take responsibility for quality control and meeting compliance deadlines across your portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Profile

  • ACA and/or CTA qualified.
  • Minimum of three years' corporate tax experience within practice.
  • Experience managing corporate tax compliance work for owner-managed businesses and/or large corporate clients.
  • Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax compliance requirements.
  • Experience liaising with clients, audit teams and HMRC.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Previous experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify additional client opportunities.
  • Desire to broaden experience into advisory work while maintaining a strong compliance focus.
