Your new company

A highly regarded accountancy firm with a strong presence across the North West is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager into their growing tax team. Following a recent senior hire to strengthen leadership and drive the function forward, the firm is entering an exciting phase of growth and development, with a clear focus on enhancing their corporate tax offering. The team works closely with the wider audit and accounts function, with much of their work generated from an established client base.

Your new role

In this role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of corporate tax clients, predominantly SMEs, owner-managed businesses and larger group structures, including some overseas elements. Your responsibilities will focus on the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, alongside tax accounting and compliance work. You will work closely with audit and accounts teams, ensuring a joined-up service offering, and will also gain exposure to senior stakeholders including Partners and Directors. While the role is primarily compliance-focused, there will be opportunities to support on advisory work as you develop. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior looking to step up to Assistant Manager.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
