Corporate Tax Manager

Midlands | Hybrid / Agile Working | Full or Part-Time | Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join the Midlands team of a highly regarded national accountancy and advisory firm.

Working within an established and growing tax practice, you’ll take on a varied role combining high-quality corporate tax advisory work, complex compliance, client relationship management and business development.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of corporate tax but wants more than a purely compliance-led position. You’ll work closely with experienced Tax Partners, advise an impressive client base and play a genuine role in the continued development of the regional tax offering.

The Opportunity

You’ll manage a portfolio ranging from owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses through to larger corporate groups, working across both UK and international tax matters.

A significant part of the position will involve project and advisory work, including:

  • Group reorganisations and restructuring
  • Demergers
  • Corporate tax due diligence
  • International expansion and cross-border matters
  • Financing arrangements
  • Transfer pricing reviews
  • R&D and capital allowances projects
  • Complex corporate tax compliance and associated planning

You’ll work directly with Tax Partners while also collaborating with colleagues across Audit, Corporate Finance, VAT, Private Client and Employment/Payroll Taxes, giving you exposure to the wider commercial needs of your clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Client & Commercial Responsibilities

Alongside delivering technically strong advice, you’ll become a trusted point of contact for clients.

You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities to provide additional support, developing existing relationships and helping generate new work across the wider firm.

The role will include responsibility for the commercial performance of your own client and project work, so you’ll need to be comfortable balancing technical quality, client service and commercial awareness.

You should also have a good working understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting fundamentals, with the ability to interpret financial statements and identify potential tax, risk and wider business issues.

Leadership & Development

This is also a people-focused management role.

You’ll support and coach developing tax professionals, providing on-the-job guidance, sharing technical knowledge and helping colleagues progress their careers.

You’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas, improve processes and play an active role within the wider tax team and regional office.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced corporate tax professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuinely commercial and personable approach.

Ideally, you will have:

  • ACA, CTA or an equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant UK Corporate Tax experience
  • Experience across both advisory and complex compliance work
  • Exposure to project-based corporate tax assignments
  • Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills
  • The ability to coach and develop junior colleagues
  • A commercial mindset and an interest in business development
  • A track record of identifying or developing new work
  • The confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders and Partners

Most importantly, you’ll enjoy understanding your clients’ businesses rather than simply dealing with their tax returns.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

You can expect:

  • A clear and supported progression pathway
  • High-quality corporate and international tax advisory exposure
  • Direct access to experienced Tax Partners
  • A varied and established client portfolio
  • Genuine involvement in business development and growth
  • Hybrid and agile working
  • Full-time or part-time options
  • Competitive salary and flexible benefits
  • Ongoing technical and professional development
  • A supportive environment focused on long-term career progression

For an experienced Corporate Tax Manager looking to broaden their advisory exposure, increase their commercial involvement and position themselves for the next stage of their career, this represents a particularly strong opportunity.
