A corporate tax role where advisory is genuinely part of the job.
If you're a Corporate Tax Manager who enjoys the technical side of tax but doesn't want to spend your week working through compliance, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.
We're supporting an established, independently owned accountancy practice where the corporate tax team works across a broad mix of compliance and advisory work.
The role comes with ownership of your own portfolio, but importantly, you'll also have the opportunity to get involved in R&D tax, corporate reorganisations, business sales and acquisitions, tax due diligence, property tax, EIS and Corporate Interest Restriction.
So while you'll still have responsibility for delivering high-quality compliance work, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved in the more interesting and commercially focused side of corporate tax.
About the role
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of corporate tax clients, with responsibility for planning and delivering work, WIP, billing and overall client cost management.
- Oversee and deliver complex corporate tax compliance and advisory work, delegating to and reviewing junior team members and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Provide practical, commercially focused tax planning advice directly to clients, as well as working alongside Audit and Accounts colleagues where appropriate.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements, using your technical knowledge to identify risks and opportunities for clients.
- Get involved in a varied range of advisory projects, including R&D tax, corporate reorganisations, business sales and acquisitions, tax due diligence, property tax, EIS and Corporate Interest Restriction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
More than just compliance
The advisory element is a genuine part of the role rather than something sitting on the sidelines.
- Work on transactions, reorganisations, acquisitions, R&D and wider tax planning, giving you exposure to different types of corporate tax work and client requirements.
- Enjoy getting into the detail but also want to understand the commercial reason behind the advice.
Leadership & development
- Play an important role in supporting more junior members of the team through delegation, review, coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to team meetings and the wider development of the tax team.
- The firm places importance on training, personal growth and career development, with the opportunity to continue building your technical, commercial and client-facing experience.
Flexible working
The role offers hybrid working, giving you flexibility around how you structure your week while maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
Technology
The firm takes a forward-thinking approach to technology, with automation and AI being used to improve efficiency and accuracy across the work.
- Work in a team that is considering how technology can make the way tax work is delivered more effective, rather than simply doing things the same way they've always been done.

We're looking for an experienced corporate tax professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with significant advisory experience.
