About Us:

At Robson Laidler, we believe great work happens when talented people are trusted, supported, and given the space to grow. That’s why we’ve built a firm where collaboration is real; development is intentional, and clients see us as more than just accountants – they see us as part of their team.

We’re always on the look-out for those who not only want to build a career, but genuinely want to make a positive difference to people's lives.

This is a Hybrid role, which can be based from any one of our offices in Jesmond, Chester-le-Street or Teesside.

Role Overview:

We’re now looking for a Corporate Tax Consultant to join us – someone who takes pride in quality work, values strong relationships, good communicator and wants to be part of a firm that’s moving forward.

We require a technically strong corporate tax professional who could broaden and deepen our offering in this area.

Requirements:

  • CTA qualified (or ACA/ACCA with strong corporate tax experience); candidates working towards CTA will also be considered.
  • Strong corporate tax compliance experience, with the ability and ambition to develop advisory expertise.
  • Experience advising owner-managed businesses, corporate groups and entrepreneurial clients.
  • Exposure to corporate restructures, reorganisations and transactions would be advantageous.
  • A practical understanding of tax-efficient profit extraction, succession planning and shareholder matters.
  • A commercial mindset, with the confidence to identify advisory opportunities and add value to client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and practical way.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to contribute to the development of an integrated Tax team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
