Corporate Tax Manager

In-House

£75-85,000 + Bonus + Package

Hybrid - flexible working options on offer

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Direct Tax Manager to join its London tax team. This is a broad corporate tax role offering exposure to a diverse range of banking and financial services activities, with regular interaction across finance, tax and senior business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing UK corporate tax compliance, supporting tax reporting obligations and contributing to the wider tax risk and governance framework.

This role would suit someone moving in-house for the first time. Or an individual with 1-2 years in-house experience (on top of their practice experience).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Manage quarterly and year-end tax reporting and disclosures.
  • Oversee corporation tax instalment payments and related calculations.
  • Support tax compliance across multiple UK business lines.
  • Coordinate group relief and other tax administration processes.
  • Assist with Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) requirements and other regulatory obligations.
  • Support interactions with external auditors and HMRC where required.
  • Act as secretary to the UK Tax Committee, coordinating reporting and tracking action items.
  • Provide practical tax advice to finance and business stakeholders on a range of UK tax matters.
  • Contribute to tax governance, controls and process improvement initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
