Corporate Tax Manager / Senior Manager Bristol, Cheltenham or Cardiff £60,000 – £80,000 + Profit Share & Benefits Permanent | Full-Time

We are working exclusively with a leading independent accountancy and business advisory firm to recruit a Corporate Tax Manager or Senior Manager into its growing tax practice. With a substantial regional presence and a team of more than 600 professionals, the firm combines the scale, technical capability and quality of work associated with the larger national practices with the accessibility and culture of an independent business.

This appointment can be based from Bristol, Cheltenham or Cardiff and could suit either an established Corporate Tax Manager ready for greater responsibility or an experienced Senior Manager looking for a long-term progression opportunity.

The Role

This is a broad corporate tax position combining portfolio management, compliance and genuinely interesting advisory work.

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate clients across a range of sectors and sizes
  • Oversee corporate tax compliance, tax accounting and associated planning
  • Work alongside Partners on more complex tax advisory assignments
  • Gain exposure to M&A, restructuring, transactions and other project-led tax work
  • Develop strong relationships with business owners, finance leaders and other key stakeholders
  • Review work and oversee workflow across the wider team
  • Coach and develop junior members of the tax practice
  • Provide technically robust advice while retaining a commercial and pragmatic approach

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Importantly, this isn't a role where you'll simply inherit a compliance portfolio and disappear into the background.

There is scope to become increasingly involved in advisory work, client development and the continued growth of the practice, with a clear route for progression for somebody who wants it.

About You

We're interested in speaking with corporate tax professionals from independent, Top 50, national or larger accountancy practices. You'll ideally be:

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA and/or ATT qualified, although significant relevant experience will also be considered
  • Experienced within UK corporate tax
  • Comfortable managing your own portfolio and client relationships
  • Able to review work and support the development of more junior colleagues
  • Technically strong but commercially minded
  • Confident communicating with clients and senior stakeholders

You don't necessarily need to tick every box. For the right person, we're equally interested in potential and trajectory as we are somebody arriving with the finished Senior Manager title.

Salary & Package

£60,000 – £80,000, dependent upon experience and whether appointed at Manager or Senior Manager level. The wider package includes:

  • Health and wellbeing benefits
  • Online GP access and mental health support
  • Discounted gym membership
  • On-site parking where available
  • Regular team and firm-wide social events

Why Consider It?

This should appeal to somebody who enjoys the technical quality and variety of corporate tax but wants to build their career somewhere they can have visibility, influence and a genuine relationship with the Partners and clients they work with.

There's significant scale behind the business, but it retains the feel and autonomy of an independent firm.

For somebody currently questioning whether the traditional route through a larger national or Big Four environment is the only way to progress, this offers an interesting alternative: high-quality work, complex clients, genuine advisory exposure and a credible long-term career path – without necessarily accepting the culture that can come with the very largest firms.

All applications will be handled in complete confidence.
