Corporate Tax Manager/Senior Manager

Salary: £55,000 - £85,000 per annum

About Us

We are recruiting for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join a growing accountancy and business advisory practice across Bristol, Cardiff or Cheltenham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven corporate tax professional to take the next step in their career within a supportive and technically strong tax team. The role will involve managing a varied portfolio of corporate clients, delivering tax compliance and advisory services, and working closely with partners on complex projects including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and tax investigations.

The position would suit a commercially minded tax professional with strong technical knowledge, client management experience and the ability to mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients across a range of sectors
  • Deliver corporate tax compliance, tax accounting and planning advice
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns
  • Support partners on tax advisory projects, including mergers, acquisitions and restructuring
  • Assist with complex tax investigations and technical client matters
  • Provide commercially focused tax advice to corporate clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries
  • Oversee team workload and ensure deadlines are met
  • Review work prepared by junior members of the tax team
  • Mentor, coach and support the development of junior staff
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and areas where additional support can be provided
  • Ensure all advice is technically accurate, practical and aligned with client objectives

Requirements

  • ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant corporate tax experience
  • Previous experience managing a corporate tax client portfolio
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax
  • Experience delivering both compliance and advisory work
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, restructuring or complex tax projects would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to review work and manage junior team members
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Professional, proactive and client-focused approach
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
