Corporate & Commercial Partner | Join a Partner-Led City Boutique | Sophisticated Clients & Genuine Autonomy
If you're a Corporate or Commercial Partner looking for a platform that delivers City-quality work without the constraints and bureaucracy that often come with larger firms, this is an opportunity to join a boutique built around experienced lawyers and sophisticated clients.
This is a firm where senior lawyers stay close to clients and transactions. The focus is on judgement, commerciality and relationships rather than leverage and hierarchy. For partners with an entrepreneurial mindset, it offers the ability to continue growing a practice alongside highly regarded peers with backgrounds from leading City and international firms.
The Firm
This specialist City boutique has built an impressive reputation advising growth companies, founders, investors and funds on complex corporate and commercial matters. Combining City-level expertise with a more agile and partner-led approach, the firm has established itself as a trusted adviser to entrepreneurial businesses and sophisticated clients.
The business was founded by senior lawyers who identified a gap in the market for experienced, commercially minded advisers who could provide the quality associated with larger firms whilst remaining responsive and accessible. Today, the firm is recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers and acts on domestic and cross-border transactions across sectors including technology, finance, media, consumer and the creative industries.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The partnership is comprised of highly experienced lawyers with backgrounds from leading City and international firms, and the firm's employee ownership model reinforces its long-term approach and collaborative culture. The firm also benefits from a well-established international network, providing clients with seamless access to trusted advisers across multiple jurisdictions when matters extend beyond the UK.
The Role
You will join a highly regarded corporate and commercial practice advising growth businesses, entrepreneurs, investors and funds on a broad range of strategic matters.
The work spans M&A, investments, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, restructurings and wider commercial advisory matters. The client base is diverse and sophisticated, with many relationships built over years rather than individual transactions.
This is an environment where partners remain directly involved in the work. Clients instruct individual lawyers and value access to senior judgement, meaning you will not be expected to operate through multiple layers of associates to deliver results.
The firm is particularly attractive to entrepreneurial lawyers who value quality over scale. The existing platform provides strong opportunities for collaboration, cross-referrals and international work, while allowing partners the autonomy to continue building and developing their own practices.
The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in corporate and commercial matters
- Currently operating at Partner level, or a Legal Director seeking a first partnership opportunity
- Strong track record advising growth companies, entrepreneurs, investors or funds
- Experience handling M&A, investments, shareholder arrangements and wider commercial matters
- Demonstrable business development capability and an established network
- Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial approach
- Looking to join a collegiate partnership where quality and collaboration are prioritised
