It’s drafting a letter that someone will always remember.

It’s contributing to a team with a shared and remarkable purpose, engaging with the public while supporting The King’s role. This is what makes working for The Royal Household so exceptional.

Every year, thousands of letters are written to The King, The Queen, and The Prince and Princess of Wales. As part of the Correspondence team, your role will be to ensure each one receives a thoughtful, timely and well-crafted response.

Key Responsibilities

  • To fulfil a principal role in supporting the Head of Royal Correspondence and Senior Correspondence Officers in the effective running of the department by taking responsibility for your own portfolio of correspondence and projects. You’ll respond to letters from the public on a wide range of social, community and national matters, drafting clear and considered replies that reflect the tone and values of the Household.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for your portfolio areas, you’ll liaise with the Private Office, other Household departments, and external stakeholders (including government agencies) to support process and policy improvements.
  • You’ll deputise for Senior Correspondence Officers when required, helping to direct the workflow of Assistant Correspondence Officers where necessary and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
  • Playing a central role in the opening, sorting and logging of incoming mail, you’ll help ensure that correspondence is processed efficiently and distributed promptly to the appropriate teams.
  • You’ll support the creation and maintenance of both bespoke and standard response templates, helping to ensure consistency and quality across the department.
  • A natural collaborator, you’ll share best practice with colleagues and take a leading role in training and coaching new starters, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Providing administrative support to the Head of Royal Correspondence and the wider Private Secretary’s Office, you’ll take pride in the accuracy and reliability of your work.
  • Managing public and commercial gifts, as well as tracking parcels, you'll liaise with key stakeholders as necessary.
  • You'll manage correspondence related to seasonal events, liaising with other Households as necessary.
  • You'll assist with data entry into relevant systems, as well as tracking of figures

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
