The Responsibilities

  • Lead and define Saffery's national company secretarial offering, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of clients and the wider firm.
  • Develop and implement the strategic growth plan for company secretarial services nationally.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, increase revenue, and enhance profitability.
  • Work collaboratively with Partners and Directors across tax, accounting, audit, and advisory teams to embed company secretarial services into broader client propositions.
  • Drive innovation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within the service line.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and market trends, ensuring the firm's offering remains market-leading and compliant.
  • Act as the firm's senior technical resource for company secretarial matters.
  • Take overall responsibility for a portfolio of company secretarial clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and strong client relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to clients on company law, governance, corporate restructuring, and compliance matters.
  • Lead the delivery of complex company secretarial assignments and transactions.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on governance frameworks and statutory compliance obligations.
  • Oversee and review:
    • Maintenance of statutory books and records.
    • Companies House filings and compliance requirements.
    • Confirmation statements.
    • Share capital transactions.
    • Corporate restructurings and group reorganisations.
    • Incorporations of UK entities.
    • Registration of UK establishments of overseas companies.
    • Dormant company filings.
    • Voluntary striking-off applications.
    • PSC notifications and updates.
    • Register of Overseas Entities filings.
  • Manage risk and quality control across all company secretarial engagements.
  • Respond to complex technical queries from clients, Partners, and colleagues throughout the firm.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of the company secretarial service line.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
