Job Title: Cost Analyst – Car Program

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to support the financial management of a Formula 1 car program. This role plays a critical part in ensuring cost control, budget adherence, and financial transparency across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the car program’s Bill of Materials (BoM), ensuring all components and assemblies are accurately costed and tracked.
- Monitor and analyse purchase orders (POs), reviewing them against approved budgets to ensure compliance and highlight variances.
- Perform weekly spend tracking and reporting, providing clear insights into actual vs. forecasted costs.
- Produce project reporting, including consolidation of financial data across projects and sub-projects, showing Expensed, On Stock, On Order, and To Go by car area.
- Support project forecasting and budget planning, working with project leads to assess risks, opportunities, and remaining spend on active programs.
- Investigate cost discrepancies and provide actionable recommendations to maintain financial control.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making across the car program.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in cost tracking, reporting tools, and financial processes.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a cost analysis, finance, or commercial role—ideally within motorsport, automotive, or high-performance engineering environments.
- Demonstrated success working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of Bill of Materials (BoM) structures and cost roll-ups.
- Ideally, experience reviewing purchase orders and invoices, and managing budgets in a project-based environment.
- Proficiency in financial tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP/project accounting systems is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
