Maraen Holdings - Cost Controller

Role Overview
The role of the Cost Controller is to support the overall delivery of the Maraen Solutions business objectives, whilst implementing departmental procedures in line with Company standards. The successful candidate will track, maintain and report on project costs and support the business through the aligning of deliverables to that of the business strategy.
Key Accountabilities
- Establishing good working relationships with all managers and supervisors to ensure that information is readily available so that all enquiries and tenders can be responded to efficiently.
- Assist in ensuring that the project control requirements for Maraen Solutions are enforced in accordance with the project contractual requirements.
- Assist in ensuring that the project controls systems provide the best possible control tools for the supervisory staff on the project to allow them to control their work efficiently.
- Population of the EVOX system with necessary project activity and sub-activity codes.
- Ensuring cost and change-out rates for all staff and direct project personnel are accurate.
- Establish baseline cost budgets in line with estimates submitted for the project.
- Oversee the transfer of the estimate or budget into EVOX by sub-activity or header activity.
- Reviewing contracts prior to signing.
- Mediating between PM and client to help close out any issues raised during the lifecycle of a project.
- Ensuring effective cost control against agreed estimates or budgets by reviewing EVOX costs in detail weekly.
- Reviewing the EVOX Hire Register on a weekly basis for any hires that require extending or closing.
- Ensuring the correct cost coding/mapping of all project requisitions to the appropriate EVOX sub-activities.
- Checking and approving invoices.
- Ensuring all necessary commercial documentation is filed correctly within the project folders on the server.
- Compiling sales invoices.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for projects you are associated with.
- Creation of client billings, highlighting possible overspends to the Project Manager and assisting in the reconciliation of EVOX costs on a monthly basis.

Skills and Experience
- Experience in a similar commercial contract role with strong cost control and cost management skills.
- Well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work inclusively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills along with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in the use of IT systems (MS Office suite and company bespoke).
- Experience in Scaffold and Access purchasing practices will be an advantage.
- Experience in ports, marine, energy, construction or heavy industry is desirable.

This role is full-time and office based at Port of Nigg (IV19). Applicants must be able to commute daily to this location.
