Cost Estimating Lead - Submarines
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Location: Derby – Jubilee House
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Estimating Lead to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby.
To support our engineering teams, we now require a highly motivated project team to deploy and execute the full breadth of project management practices in this rapidly growing, fast-paced engineering programme. You will be a key member in the project team in the early phase of the project, leading the definition and execution of the performance measurement baseline. You will take a key role in establishing and delivering fuel and the fuel facility infrastructure for nuclear products of the future.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum, we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
- Recognised as local authority in relation to cost estimating and maintaining that status by continuing professional development, monitoring the external environment for opportunities, and liaising with group and other sector functions.
- Develop and maintain implementation plans in the area of cost estimating.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of project artefacts in the area of cost estimating.
- Coach and develop others where appropriate in the cost estimating discipline or provide expert guidance and authoritative leadership to small/medium teams.
Ideal Candidate:
- Ideally attained Degree level qualification in PM or APM Project Management Qualification or can demonstrate equivalent PM knowledge.
- Ideally 5 years’ experience with the majority of years’ experience in Cost Estimating.
- Data analytics experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrate good analytical skills with an ability to analyse and interpret information from different sources.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business, an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
