Cost Manager - Housing & Public Sector Clients

Fully Remote | Car Allowance + Benefits

We are working with an ambitious and rapidly growing consultancy that is looking to appoint a Cost Manager / Principal Consultant to play a key role in developing and growing their Cost Consultancy offering.

The business works extensively across the housing and public sectors, supporting Registered Providers, Local Authorities, and other public sector organisations across a variety of complex projects.

Their work is predominantly focused around regeneration and the wider built environment, with projects spanning housing, commercial, industrial, and public sector schemes.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional Cost Management role. You will have the autonomy to help build a new service line, develop client relationships, and potentially build a team around you as the business continues to expand.

The Role

Your initial focus will include providing in-house cost advice on a major £60m refurbishment, alongside delivering Cost Consultancy and Quantity Surveying services to clients across the UK.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering Cost Consultancy and Quantity Surveying services
  • Providing strategic cost advice throughout the project lifecycle
  • Managing cost plans, procurement, and commercial reporting
  • Working under NEC and JCT contracts
  • Building and developing client relationships
  • Supporting Registered Providers, Local Authorities, and other public sector clients
  • Supporting the growth of the Cost Consultancy function
  • Working independently and taking ownership of your workload

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Opportunity

The business has an aggressive growth strategy and this role offers genuine long-term progression.
