Cost Manager
Contract: 3 Months
Location: Mansfield (Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in office)
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to provide cost management support for complex construction projects. The role will focus on project cost estimation, financial planning, forecasting, and ensuring projects remain within agreed budgets and cost tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project cost estimation for complex construction projects.
- Analyse construction tender processes and assess project costs.
- Develop monthly cost forecasts and compare against contractor forecasts.
- Assess Compensation Events (CEs), Applications for Payment (AFP), and Early Warnings within NEC contracts.
- Provide cost advice and support to Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project costs, risks, and financial performance.
- Work with project teams to ensure risks are appropriately costed and managed.
- Support cost control of remedial works and unexpected project requirements.
- Identify and utilise quality cost information from completed projects to support future estimates.

Essential Experience

- Strong experience in construction cost estimation and cost management.
- Experience delivering construction projects using NEC contracts.
- Quantity Surveying (QS) background with experience analysing tenders and forecasts.
- Experience assessing Compensation Events, contractor payments, and project costs.
- Ability to provide accurate cost advice and financial reporting for construction projects.
