A little more about your role…
We are looking for talented Quantity Surveyors, Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers to join our growing Cost Management and Commercial team.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering Cost Management and Assurance services, together with pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying solutions, for prestigious clients across a diverse range of sectors. Our projects vary significantly in scale, complexity and value, spanning major infrastructure and capital investment programmes across Defence, Energy, Water, Transportation, Industrial and wider Infrastructure markets.
Our clients are some of the UK's leading public and private sector organisations, delivering programmes that shape communities, strengthen critical infrastructure and support the transition to a more sustainable future.
Depending on your experience and seniority, your responsibilities may include:
- Delivering Quantity Surveying, Cost Management and Commercial Management services throughout the project lifecycle.
- Providing cost assurance, procurement support, contract administration and commercial advisory services.
- Managing client relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Leading project commercial teams and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
- Contributing to business development activities, bid submissions and winning new work.
- Driving innovation, best practice and continuous improvement across commercial delivery.
- Representing WSP at client meetings, industry events and professional networks.
- Supporting people leadership, mentoring and team development activities.

Your Team
You will join a diverse and growing team of Cost Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Managers and related professionals working across a variety of sectors and markets.
As WSP continues to expand across key growth sectors including Defence, Energy, Water and Infrastructure, there has never been a more exciting time to join our team. We are seeking commercially focused professionals who are passionate about delivering value, building strong client relationships and making a positive impact on major projects and programmes.
You will be based in one of our Manchester office, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the UK and internationally.

We'd love to hear from you if you have
Essential
- MRICS, AssocRICS, MCICES or currently working towards a relevant professional qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge, experience and capability across Quantity Surveying, Cost Management and Commercial Management disciplines.
- The ability to develop strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
- For senior-level applicants, demonstrable experience of project leadership, team management and successful project delivery.
Desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- An adaptable and flexible approach to workload and project requirements.
- An alternative relevant professional qualification or progression towards one.
- Demonstrable Quantity Surveying, Cost Management or Commercial Management experience within infrastructure, utilities, defence, energy, transport, industrial or public sector environments.
- The ability to travel to project sites, client offices, other WSP locations and wider project teams as required.
- A passion for making a difference and contributing to a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
- A degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
- Proven organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A willingness to challenge conventional thinking, embrace innovation and learn from experience.
- Familiarity with specialist software such as CostX and CEMAR.
- Working knowledge of NEC Contracts and other industry-standard forms of contract.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in a consultant, contractor or client organisation delivering infrastructure and capital projects across sectors such as Defence, Energy, Water, Transport, Highways, Industrial, Manufacturing, Process Engineering or other major programme environments.
