Cost Modeler – 12 Month Contract
Our client, a global organisation, urgently require an experienced Cost Modeler to undertake a 12 month contract, starting immediately.
Requirements
In order to be successful, you will have the following experience:
- Highly experienced in developing and maintaining complex cost models within Defence or Government
- Strong understanding of cost estimating methodologies and cost modelling principles.
- Experience supporting major programmes, business cases or complex procurement activities
- DV Clearance is essential
Responsibilities
Within this role, you will be responsible for:
- Develop and maintain detailed cost models for defence programmes, systems and services
- Produce Whole Life Cost (WLC), Through Life Cost (TLC) and Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) assessments
- Support the development of Strategic Outline Cases (SOC), Outline Business Cases (OBC) and Full Business Cases (FBC)
- Undertake affordability assessments, investment appraisals and option evaluations
- Analyse cost drivers, assumptions, risks and uncertainties impacting programme delivery
- Conduct sensitivity analysis, scenario modelling and Monte Carlo simulations where appropriate
- Develop estimating methodologies using parametric, analogous and bottom-up costing techniques
- Support procurement and commercial activities by providing cost assurance and independent cost estimates
- Present cost model outputs and recommendations to senior MoD stakeholders and programme leadership
- Work collaboratively with engineering, finance, project controls and commercial teams to ensure cost models are aligned with programme baselines
- Ensure compliance with MoD, HM Treasury Green Book and defence acquisition best practice
- Contribute to cost estimating standards, processes and continuous improvement initiatives
