We’re looking for a Costs Consultant to join our Private Client team. If you know your way around Court of Protection and Private Client work, want to be empowered to run files from start to finish, and want to be part of a business that values ideas as much as output, we’d love to hear from you.
What will you do?
You’ll be part of our specialist Private Client team, (headed up by Julie Fitzpatrick) handling matters on a cradle-to-grave basis.
Your Work Will Primarily Focus On Short Form And Detailed Bills For Assessment In Court Of Protection Matters, Including (but Not Limited To):
- Deputyship Applications
- Annual General Management matters
- Statutory Will Applications
- Inheritance Act Claims
You’ll manage your own caseload, work closely with colleagues and Clients, and play an active role in shaping how we work. We want people who are organised, switched on and confident enough to contribute ideas.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:
- Drafting Short Form Bills and Detailed Bills for assessment in Court of Protection matters
- Preparing costs estimates for Form OPG105
- Advising on outcomes of assessments at the SCCO, including preparing appeals and completing Bill Summaries
- Drafting Non-Contentious Probate Bills
- Drafting Contentious Probate Bills
- Drafting Contentious Probate Costs Budgets
- Preparing clear, detailed advice to clients at all stages of the costing process
- Making full use of all case management and drafting software provided
- Attending internal and external training workshops, conferences, and seminars where required
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in Private Client and/or Court of Protection costs work
- Comfortable running their own caseload independently
- Highly organised, efficient, and reliable
- Detail-focused, with strong drafting skills
- Able to work well under pressure and manage competing deadlines
- Commercially minded and solutions-focused
- A team player who contributes positively and collaborates well
- Keen to get involved and share ideas.
