Total Legal Solutions, in partnership with HarKaye Core Talent, is looking to appoint an experienced Law Costs Draftsman to join its established and growing team.
This is a fully remote opportunity suited to someone with strong costs drafting experience who can confidently manage their own workload while delivering accurate, high-quality work for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed bills of costs for assessment
- Drafting costs schedules and statements of costs
- Preparing points of dispute and replies
- Reviewing files and assessing recoverable costs
- Managing a varied caseload from instruction through to completion
- Negotiating costs and supporting the settlement process
- Working closely with solicitors and other legal professionals
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Maintaining clear communication with clients throughout each matter

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Law Costs Draftsman
- A strong understanding of costs law, procedure and relevant court rules
- Experience preparing bills of costs and associated documentation
- The ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work effectively within a remote team
- Experience using legal costs software would be advantageous
