Role Description
This full-time hybrid role for a Costs Draftsman and Costs Lawyer is based in Greater London, with the option to work from home for part of the week. The role involves preparing detailed bills of costs, schedules, and statements for Legal Aid Criminal and Family law cases. Those without prior experience will be provided full training.
Qualifications
- Strong numeracy skills - comfortable working with calculations.
- Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and ability to present complex costs issues clearly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with solicitors, counsel, and support staff, and to negotiate confidently.

Applies to Costs Lawyers
- Qualification as a Costs Lawyer or significant experience as a Costs Draftsman; membership of the Costs Lawyer Standards Board or similar body is advantageous.
- Experience in Legal Aid, criminal defence, and family law.
