Costs Paralegal
As a Costs Paralegal in the financial services sector, you'll play a vital role in managing legal costs and ensuring accurate documentation. This is a permanent position where your expertise will help the legal department run effectively and efficiently while working independently.

Description
- Manage legal spend across complex litigation and arbitration matters.
- Review, process, and monitor legal invoices.
- Track budgets and produce financial management reports.
- Analyse legal costs, time entries, and fee allocations.
- Challenge and query external counsel billing where appropriate.
- Build relationships with multiple external law firms.
- Monitor financial performance across a portfolio of disputes.
- Support arbitration matters as required.
- Assist with implementing more structured budgeting and reporting processes.
- Work closely with senior legal stakeholders on spend management and forecasting.

Profile
- 5+ year's experience within a legal operations, legal finance, legal executive, or senior paralegal position.
- Experience managing legal spend, budgets, invoices, or financial reporting within a legal environment.
- Comfortable reviewing and challenging external counsel invoices and fee allocations.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse data and produce meaningful reports.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to manage competing priorities independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with complex litigation, arbitration, or disputes matters would be advantageous.
- Exposure to top-tier law firms or large legal functions would be beneficial.
