Fixed Term Contract - 2 years

At Ealing Council, we are committed to delivering excellent services for our residents. We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Customer and Transactional Services team as a Council Tax and Housing Benefits Customer Service Officer within the Contact Centre.

In this role, you will provide accurate advice and support to residents on Council Tax and Housing Benefits matters, respond to enquiries, maintain accurate records and help ensure services are delivered efficiently, professionally and in line with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience using NEC Northgate and NEC Enterprise Document Management System or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a demanding contact centre or similar environment.
  • Proven experience working as a Council Tax and/or Housing Benefits Officer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to accurate record keeping.
  • The ability to keep up to date with changes in services, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • A strong work ethic.

This is a full-time, two-year fixed-term role working 35 hours per week.

As this is a customer-facing role, you must have sufficient spoken English to carry out the duties effectively, in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

The place of employment will be Perceval House or any other premises within the borough, or within reasonable travelling distance of the borough, as the Council may require from time to time.
